Nanaimo Camp - Cold War

The Nanaimo Military Camp which housed more than 10,000 troops during WW2 was a major training camp and continued to operate as a Military installation until 1994.





During the Cold War Camp Nanaimo was the site of the Regional Emergency Government HQ. and Provincial Warning Centre build underground in one of the country’s famous Diefenbunker's.
